It is with great sadness that we announce Jackie Charlton, Tim Charlton’s mother, passed away on June 6th 2025 aged 88.
Last Saturday, June 14th was a poignant day for both the Charlton Family and Bitteswell Cricket Club. A club that means a great deal to Euro Catering Equipment as a family run business, and their main sponsor.
Pictured below in Blue is Jackie, next to Grandson Harry Charlton (Captain). Also seen in this picture is June Bateman, next to her Grandson Ian Bateman. In 2018 the ladies were presented with an award for their loyalty at a special Celebratory dinner.
In a very upsetting turn of events, June had also passed away just 2 weeks before Jackie, aged 91. Together they were the most loyal supporters of Bitteswell Cricket club, sitting through all types of weather to support their Grandsons and the club.
On Saturday 14th June, before the match started, a one minute silence was held in memory of the two ladies. The opposing team Shree Sanatan of Leicester also asked to remember the victims of the recent Air India disaster.
In a very fitting and beautiful tribute to two incredible ladies, who were the clubs most ardent supporters, the Bitteswell cricketers had a stunning cricket themed wreath created in their honour.
